The California Department of Education
(CDE) makes instructional resources and learning environments accessible and
meaningful to students with disabilities.

CDE products and services are provided pursuant to Education Code sections
60010, 60061, 60240, 60312, and 60313,
No Child Left Behind (NCLB) , the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) ,
the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) , and the
Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 .
California's Instructional Materials Fund covers the cost of production and
dissemination of such specialized media as braille, large print, recordings,
and American Sign Language VideoBooks that support access to the general
curriculum by students with disabilities.
The American Printing House for the
Blind (APH) products are provided pursuant to the US
Code, Title 20, Chapter 6, to promote the education of the blind.
